A magazine article on Karl Laggerfeld led me to one question: If given the chance, would I invite him to dinner? From there, this series grew to include 15 dinner guests at my table. Aside from having my own personal interests and admiration for my subjects, it was necessary for me to immerse myself in their world. This was accomplished by either reading about the subjects, watching documentaries and having discussions with friends about the subjects and their contributions to the world. One essential requirement for an invitation was that they needed to be part of our pop consciousness.
